With a palette of chalky pastels and cement greys, this contemporary look is clean and refined. Here we show you a simple effect to create the look of tiles with paint.

1. Mark out the approximate area for your paint effect.

2. Apply your chosen paint colours above and below this area.

3. Using a pencil and a ruler draw out the tiled area exactly.

4. Use tape to mask along the lines horizontally.

5. Apply the ’tile colour’ using a small roller.

6. When dry, measure, mark & mask your ‘grout lines’.

7. Using a small brush, paint your grout colour horizontally

8. And repeat vertically.
