Sometimes, no matter how many layers you apply to a surface, you won’t achieve the perfect result you want.

In most cases, the reason behind the problem is that you didn’t prepare the base layer, and you applied the primer wrong or not at all. Not using a primer may cause peeling, cracks, bubbles, and discolorations on the surface.

Primers are essentially sublayers that make sure you have a uniform final shading, can insulate, waterproof, and get inside the pores of the surface you’re about to paint. By applying the correct primer before painting you achieve better paint adhesion and avoid future problems that might occur.

It’s important that primers are applied to dry, stable, and not oily surfaces, and you mustn’t thin them more than what the packaging indicates.
